...or Recession: Experts best friend or trap

I’ve being around the web since 2002, and as a some of you, have been able to see companies catch opportunities and develop mega enterprises, seen others tired of surfing through disasters and sadly a lot of startups and small to medium companies go down.

Having the experience as web designer and developer i have developed some documents that may help me and other designers/developers protect our interests and avoid falling into recession traps.

I don´t mean to say that people are bad, just point out that sometimes recession can make awful things to some companies ethics and conduct.

I have uploaded two files:
MONKEY SUIT or proposal
This is the quote doc that details the job to be done

APE SHIELD or contract
I’ve developed this doc Based upon Andy Clarke´s Contract Killer http://24ways.org/2008/contract-killer

I would love to know your opinion on both files and get some feedback on your experience and how we can improve both documents for us all.

Thank you all for your time and MailChimp team for this great blog

Wow, thanks for posting these email marketing contract templates. I took a look through them, and thought they covered everything. Individual experts would want to tweak for their needs, but overall, it's a great starting point.

I'm working on some docs myself, which will hopefully help experts in this group weed out any of your clients' um---bad lists. I know it's hard to ask them, "You're not an evil spammer, are you?" But you can give them some really official looking questions and then "read between the lines" of their answers. Will post soon.

Thanks so much, Isabel. This is super useful.

Thank you Ben!
I really appreciate your comments and recommendations as you are the "most experienced chimp" around here :)

What do you think about the Monkey suit doc?
Do you think we have covered all MailChimp features/characteristics/technology/uses?
Is there something you think we can add here?

What about the Ape Shield?
Do you think we have left something aside?
What do you think about the workflow proposed?

Specially the one that reads "You will have a MailChimp account for yourself and company only (created by you or by our firm), and will be attached to MailChimp privacy and spam policies. Our firm will not be responsible ..." and the other one "This Addons are not for free and should be listed in the..."

This has been the method I’ve chosen to protect each clients e-mail list in case any is spamming.
Do you recommend another practice?

Should we include something related with affiliates program? Discounts, promotions etc? By the way is this still running?

It will be great to get all chimps involved in looking at this docs and giving their point of view on how to improve it. Even if that means paring it down a little bit.

It will be great to have those questions posted in order to identify "evil and naughty spammers".
Hope you can post something soon and give some feedback or docs that will help protect the “apes” that have chosen MailChimp :D
