MailChimp Jungle

MailChimp customer community

Shopify recently (in the last quarter) started collecting at the end of their shopping process the idea of a list, and since we are MC users I disable it. However it would ultimately be a great capture point for hooking up another list. It may behoove the community to delve deeper into Shopify's API for better integration like other products.

We have just released a beta version of Chimpified, which will connect your Shopify store to your Mailchimp account. No programming required, and it can be installed and set up in less than a minute.

Very cool. I look forward to seeing how this works.

Thanks, Andy. I'd really appreciate any feedback that you might have to offer.

Looks nice. You've definitely got your chops down when it comes to making a clean straight forward UI/site to house it all.

I want to buy something from myself to see it work heheh.

The only missing element on the back end is having us pre-set them on a segment(s).

We're open to new features. Mainly we wanted to get one of our clients connected, so we are starting with that. It also provides a nice place for the average person to integrate their Shopify store and their Mailchimp account.

You can test it by hitting the "test" link next to the order subscription you set up in your Shopify store admin. It will add "jon@doe.ca" to your list(s), so that you can verify that it is working. Of course, if it doesn't let me know...

I'll dig into segmentation a bit and see what that would take. The problem with that one is that usually the customer would select this, and the Shopify checkout only has opt in or opt out as the choices.

Ah very cool. Yep, looks like it works. Sweet.

Yea I figured segmentation wouldn't be something they can set. It would allow any shop owner to preselect them into some criteria. Not sure if it's something that's a perfect fit but an option.

I'm not sure if it is feasible without doing multiple lists but when an opt-in comes from a source like a shopping solution it'd be nice if we could key in on that as a referrer that way a followup could be sent out via autoresponder to go and fine tune segments, birthdays, interests, a product discount offer, etc. Again, not sure if MC has that kind of "referrer" thought on where the subscriber is coming from but it'd offer some nice potentials.

Again, good job and thanks!

That require a new list just for that autoresponder. There is no API access to them for what you are describing. However, if you wanted to set up a new list that has an autoresponder, you could just select that list in Chimpified and you are good.

For example, if you wanted to send a campaign to each customer after their order, you could set up an autoresponder for your list that they are added to. When the order comes in to Shopify, and the user is then added to MC through Chimpified, that would count as a "subscribe" event (unless they were already on your list) that would trigger the autoresponder. It seems like a good way to reach first time customers of your store.

This is awesome - I'm not a Shopify user yet, but was hoping something like this existed. Awesome!!
