Can the minimum width on the text box in the content editor please be removed so I (and my colleagues) can adjust the size of the text box within the editor to match the width of the section of the emails we're editing?  You can currently…

Request: add double opt-in *option* for manual subscriptions

I was advised by a support chat rep to post a new message about this, even though it's pretty much the same request as a previous one:http://jungle.mailchimp.com/forum/topics/double-optin-process-for#Essentially my organization wants to be able to double opt-in certain manually subscribed addresses. There are various reasons for this, many of which are covered in the original thread above. Everything from people…See More

Love Mailchimp....hate the template editor Is it just me or does anyone else find the editor way too inflexible. I have a group of approximately 450 members to whom I send a relatively brief newsletter every two weeks. I don't know in advance…

Image vspace & hspace in Outlook

I have a section of my newsletter that has a blue background. Whenever I place an image in there and set it to align left then set the hspace to whatever number, it ALWAYS makes a white background in Outlook. Anyone have this issue or know how to fix it? I'm fairly certain I have exhausted all of my options, but would use some guidance. Thanks!See More

Open Rate inconsistency

I know that open rates usually understate reality for a host of reasons, especially when most of your audience uses Blackberries and don't have images set to download. However, I've just come across some inconsistency within Mailchimp reports that I'd like to understand. As a test to just 6 people, I sent an email with a quickmerge suvrey included. The stats are:- 6 emails sent- 5 survey responses received- 2 emails opened (even though a survey can only be responded to once)I've attached a screen…See More

I think you should be able to do this with a series of "if/then" merge tags. I don't use them, so I don't remember how they work, but there's a good tutorial of how to do this floating around in the knowledge base…

Carry over visibility and variants when changing templates

I have 15 virtually identical custom templates that use the same campaign content each time they get sent out (and they all get sent out at once). When I replicate the campaign and switch the template the visibility and variant settings of the editable areas are reset, so I have to reassign them each time. Kind of a pain and error-prone. It's the switching of the template that seems to lose the settings. The content otherwise carries over fine.It would be nice if the visibility and variant…See More

Gmail HD Theme issue

When I create an email in Mailchimp I normally use a white background.  I add images with white backgrounds and it all fits together fine.  I noticed on my most recent mailchimp that when I use the new HD themes in Gmail (the ones where the email area background is translucent so you can see the theme image underneath) that there's now a problem.  The background is now translucent in gmail which means my emails have this translucent background inbetween the images making them blocky.  The…See More

Generated markup is broken in MS Outlook 2010

The way that MailChimp marks up headings is to use a SPAN tag and give it the inline style of display:block.MS Outlook 2010 ignores this style. I cannot find any work around. Thus, headings wrap, breaking the desired page display.Yes, I know that Outlook uses MS Word to display HTML and that this is bad.Why does MailChimp choose to use the SPAN tag this way? It would seem to a simple matter to use a DIV tag, something that Outlook understands. I would think that Outlook is an important enough…See More

How to get SEO benefit from your campaign archives

A while back we introduced an RSS button on the Campaign Archive Toolbar. It might seem kind of weird at first to include an entire email campaign in an RSS feed, but it’s actually pretty useful. I’ll explain why in just a moment. First, for those of you who aren’t familiar with Campaign Archives, every [...]

Recording Mobile Usability Tests

We’ve also been hanging out in coffee shops with our users and testing our mobile prowess in person. We needed a way to record these sessions, and I got inspired by these guys. But I wanted to come [...]
